Buying Guide (Sept 2015)

First of all, my apologies for the lateness. Second of all, my apologies for this post. I am hastily throwing it together because my time is very limited. So I won’t have the usual pics and comments. I’m just gonna list the releases for the month, and I’ll highlight my top picks. I’ll be back to the normal format next month, so my apologies once again. Let’s start with the week we missed.

Week of Sept. 1

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4, PS3, XB1, 360, PC) – A definite GOTY candidate. Doesn’t mean you’ll love it, but it is highly likely. Recommended.

Mad Max (PS4, XB1, PC) – This is being slept on much like the excellent movie. I’m hearing good things. Give it a shot if it looks interesting to you.

Also Super Time Force Ultra makes its way to PS4 and Vita. If you never played it, check it out. The rewind mechanic is brilliant.

Week of Sept. 8

Super Mario Maker (Wii U) – This is a love letter to any Mario fan, young or old. You owe it to yourself to play it, even if you won’t create levels. There will be a ton of them to play.

Tearaway Unfolded (PS4) – This Vita gem is coming to PS4 with some brand new surprises. If you like games such as Little Big Planet, give it a try. It’s the same company.

Castle Crashers Remastered (360, XB1) – Just get it. I dont care if you played the original. Play it again. If you didn’t play it, play it now. Please.

Week of Sept. 15

Forza Motorsport 6 (XB1) – Y’all know the drill. If you like racing, you like Forza.

NHL 16 (PS4, XB1) – I won’t pretend I follow this series, but I’m sure fans will buy it and everyone else will ignore it.

Pro Evolution Soccer 16 (PC, PS3, PS4) – Nah. Unless you like soccer and hate FIFA.

Week of Sept. 22

FIFA 16 (PS4, XB1, PC) – Here you go soccer fans. Here. Right here. Over here.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 (PS4, PS3, XB1, 360) – THPS returns. Rejoice.

Week of Sept. 29

NBA 2K16 (PS4, PS3, XB1, 360, PC) – I’m not happy about the online league still being barebones, but whatever. Preorders give you access on the 24th.

NBA Live 16 (PS4, XB1) – Next.

Lego Dimensions – Good ol Lego family fun.

Fallout Anthology (PC) – Play catch up.Ā

Free Stuff

Games With Gold – XB1 owners can download Deer God and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. 360 Owners can download Battlestations Pacific and Crysis 3.

PS Plus – PS4 owners can download Grow Home, Super Time Force Ultra, Xeodrifter, and Teslagrad. PS3 will give you the aforementioned Teslagrad, as well as Twisted Metal. Vita has La Mulana Ex, along with Super Time Force Ultra and Xeodrifter.

There you go. Once again, I’m sorry for not formatting this like I usually do. But the info is important right? Now you have it. Enjoy your September. I’m going to eat some barbeque.
