Buying Guide (August 2015)

My apologies everyone. I recently moved for those who didn’t know, and I was without internet access for 2 weeks. Due to this, the domain expired and I was unable to get the buying guide up on time. But I’m here now, trying to right my wrong. I will renew the domain name in a day or two, so don’t fret. Let’s get down to business.

Beyond Eyes (XBox One) – This game has been on my radar for about 2 months now. You help a blind girl make her way through the world, revealing more of it in the process. It looks absolutely beautiful, and I’m hoping it’s just as fun. Please give it a shot if you own the XBox One. PLEASE. You just might be surprised.

Rare-Replay

Rare Replay (XBox One) – Check out this collection including 30 of Rare’s classics. Well, after you get over Goldeneye’s omission. Personally, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, and Battletoads make it worth the money alone. KI Gold, Conker, Banjo-Kazooie, this is a really good collection here.

Along with those 2 titles, keep a look out for Galak-Z (PC and PS4), Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight (3DS), and the Reckoning DLC for COD: Advanced Warfare.

gauntlet-slayer-edition

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition (PS4) – Gauntlet returns with a remake of the original 4 player co-op adventure. Warrior. Wizard. Valkyrie. Elf. Shoot the monsters, and shoot the food. Those of us old enough sank plenty of quarters on this game in our youth, and I can imagine some might want to revisit that experience.

Everybody's_gone_to_the_rapture_logoEverybody’s Gone To The Rapture (PS4) – Everybody is gone, except you. What would you do? This game seems to want to see how you answer that question. It seems to be completely non linear, and you can do whatever you want. Each player’s experience will be different depending on what they choose to do during their time with the game. After reading up, I’m kinda excited to see what it’s all about.

Also look out for the Dragon Age Inquisition: Descent DLC. The Fallout Shelter app will also be released this week for Android devices.

Trine 3: Artifacts of Power (PC) – Amadeus, Pontius and Zoya return to make Trine a trilogy. These games are really fun, and encourage teamwork between the 3 characters to solve puzzles and defeat foes. PC players should give it a look in my humble yet better than yours opinion.

Weak week here. Look out for Helldivers: Super-Earth Ultimate Edition (PS4), Adventures of Pip (PS4), and Volume (PC, PS4, Vita).

Madden NFL 16 (PS4, PS3, XB1, 360) – Do I really need to talk about Madden? I don’t think so. You’re either getting it or you aren’t. Let’s move on.

until_dawn_2015-2560x1440

Until Dawn (PS4) – I’M READY! The campy horror flick turned PS4 exclusive is set to bring an end to the summer in style. I can’t wait to try to keep everyone alive and fail spectacularly. I’m getting that Heavy Rain vibe, and you know how I feel about Heavy Rain. If you don’t, use context clues. They’re super effective!

Mega-Man-Legacy-Collection-1280x720

Mega Man Legacy Collection (XB1, PC, PS4, 3DS) – Forget the bells and whistles. It’s Mega Man 1-6. Enough said. Go get it. NOW!

dishonoreddefinitiveeditionDishonored: Definitive Edition (XB1, PS4) – Y’all know the drill with these updated versions. I don’t need to explain much. If you haven’t played this game, it’s a perfect warm up for the incoming sequel.

Gears-Of-War-Ultimate-Edition-Game-WallpapersByte-com-1920x1080

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (XB1) – See previous game.

Action packed week here, but you may want to make time to check out Ascendant (PC and PS4), Capsule Force (PC and PS4), and Back to Bed (Wii U and iPhone).

Quiet month here. And then at the very end, it’s the TURN UP. It only gets worse from here, so get your wallets ready. September is kind of exciting, and then October and November will be insane. So enjoy August, keep working on your backlogs, and get these games out of the way. It’s about to get real.
